If I was to sell something and get paid for it through paypal how do you get your money? Do you have to request it or do they transfer it to an account. Just wondering how it worked. Thanks for any info

One of many ways. You can have it transfered to a checking or savings account. This usually takes 3-5 business days IIRC. Another way is you can just request them to send you a check. This takes 1-2 weeks and costs like $1 I think. Also you can request a paypal debit card which acts like a regular debit card.

When you set up a paypal account you give them your bank account information. It is always wise to set up a separate account for paypal use if you are the least bit apprehensive. I have never had a problem with them..
When you receive payment, paypal puts it in their online account for you to use.. if you wish to put it in your personal bank account, you just need to do a transfer which takes about 2-3 days.

I have a Pay Pal debit card. It can be used anywhere a credit card is accepted as long as you have enough money in your Pay Pal account to cover your purchase.

When you use PayPal, be prepared to receive a lot of phishing scam e-mails. They want you to go in and verify your account, or that someone has charged something to your account, or some other bogus thing that requires signing in on their handy dandy link that they have on the page. I get no less than 4 of those a day.

Always go to the PayPal site yourself and sign in the correct way if you ever have a question about your account.

Plus you are giving them the right to control your account.
They can freeze---transfer---or hold the money. Heck you are giving a stranger access to control you account.
Having a seperate account does not save you in any way. It's your account and you would be responible for it.

I use paypal for not only pens but for my development work. I have never had a problem with it. I have setup a filter that will automatically send the phishing e-mails directly to pay pal and never see them anymore.

Good advice.....

You must have some special animal magnetism, if I get 5-6 of those a year it's a lot.

I have a website and take PayPal, so I assume that's why I get them. I hope there's no way for them to know when it's being used.
