I was making my payment for the micromesh group buy and paypal apparently reset everything in my account and asked me to fill in new security questions, re-enter credit card info and bank account info. first time this ever happened. Has anyone else had any issues like that with paypal or is it just me?

I think I just had to do that too recently. But I don't remember for sure if it was PayPal, but I think so...

Do NOT fill that out.
Go and log into your account and see what's going on

DO NOT FILL THAT OUT

Sounds like a scam to me also. I would call or email them about it.
I do a lot of transactions with paypal and haven't had to do anything different. I have received emails asking me to do that, but they are bogus.

I went back and checked. It wasn't paypal. It was an online bill pay for one of the local utilities. So disreguard my "maybe"

Peter's email was in response to the PP invoice I sent for the MM group buy.

I signed into paypal a couple months ago and the system did ask for some new privacy questions. These weren't from an outside email, but on paypal's site itself.

Mannie I was just trying to make sure he didn't get caught in a scam.
That's why I told him to go to Paypal and look at it closer.
Glad everything worked out right.
Darn shame there is so much fraud everywhere.

ALWAYS go to the site requesting information DIRECTLY, don't use the hyperlink- thats how information gets scammed. I don't use PayPal just because they don't accept credit card payments without bank account information. I don't give that out so I send cashiers checks, personal checks, or money orders exclusively. If a vendor wont accept any of these means of payment - I don't buy.

I'm going to ride Gary's coat tails here too. I have seen the email asking people too link in and next thing you know, they are paying for someones caribean vacation. I guess it all turned out okay.

Evertime that I use Pay Pal to pay someone, in a few days I will get this notice that someone is trying to use my account. I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH PAY PAL. They have a website to report scams. This is the reason I do not order and use Pay Pal.

I get emails from banks that I've never even heard of telling me that I need to verify my account info. Sometimes I feel like doing it with some fake info and see if they get caught trying to raid the bank with bad numbers.

If anyone gets this email saying its from PAYPAL forward it to spoof@paypal.com and they will return an answer to you within 24 hours to tell you if its legit or not. This is their fraud reporting system and is listed on their site with instructions on how to use it. I have forwarded MANY suspicious emails to them and not a one has been legit. Until they confir I would not give any info online.

it was on the pay pal site. I couldn't find my business check book so i didn't enter any checking info but did enter a new credit card. Monty got the payment so I guess it was something with paypal.

John; That is good advice always!

I set up a separate account just to make Paypal payments. Most banks and credit unions will allow you to have multiple accounts. I created an account and use only for Paypal. I set up the account so ONLY I can transfer money from my regular account into the Paypal account. It doesn't do any automatic transfers itself.
