The problem Peter had with PP and the comment that were made concerning phishing got me to thinking (that can be dangerous and also hurt my widdle brain :biggrin:).

I have always preferred to send a PP invoice because when paid, it gives me the persons mailing address, something that is easy to forget when someone sends money through PP.

What are your thoughts on receiving a PP invoice for items you order, such as through a Group Buy.

I am with you on this one all thought i sometimes do not send a invoice but all ways print my shipping lable through paypal that gives me the address. The only thing is that i could not get to let me seclet the small flat rate box for 4.95 had to use the flat rate envelope and but the small box inside it. PITA. but it worked.

Hey Mannie,
I like the invoices, even though I know how much effort it takes to send them out.

For those receiving the invoice. You do not have to click anything in the email. You can log into Paypal and the invoice will be sitting there asking for money also. So if you are unsure as to the validity of an invoice in your email, log into Paypal directly.

For the group buy I just did, I didn't send out invoices unless requested, but the address is always on the payment as long as they send it for goods not service.

I use the same label for the box and the envelope. I was told to do this by a postal inspector. They cost the same, unless you go to USPS.com and then the envelope cost $00.01 more than the box.

My problem is that hardley any body references what the payments are for, I had two customers both ordered two tools, only different tools, and different amounts of inserts, So if it's been a sale through the classifieds I can usually go back through my PM folders and find it, but if it's a sale through another forum or from contact on my website I'm hunting all over the place trying to find out who ordered what.
I tried the PayPal shopping cart and had nothing but trouble with it, and since my website prices are higher it really gets confusing (but I'm easily confused)

Mannie,
just to be clear, the scam that I fell for was not anything related to a paypal invoice, it was an email asking that I re-submit my info to update my account...the banner head they used looked identical to paypal in every way!!

I was later told by paypal that they NEVER send out an email asking for such information!
