Following the concept of paying it forward, Bill (ilikewood) was kind enough to send me some beautiful Cocobolo blanks, that I hopefully will turn into beautiful pens. So, I will send some Juniper blanks to the first person to email me their address. They will be completely free, no shipping charges or anything. Please specify if you want whole heart or half heart, half heart is my best seller.
Thanks again to Bill.

I didn't realize that you had gotten the blanks already. Hope they turn nice for you.

On the other hand, I feel as if I have just started a chain letter. If you don't forward more blanks to someone else, you will have the IAP curse put on you and recieve no woody blessings....may all your blanks blow apart!![:D]

Thanks a million Bill; not for the curse but for the blanks. This is just one of the many things that makes this such a great site.
Besides, I don't have to worry about the curse, I am getting Gary's blanks ready right now.[:D]

Ozzy,
Those smell really nice. Thanks very much. And, I had a chance to look in my stash ....
so,

the first person to email me their address will receive a package containing heavily spalted sweet gum and black walnut blanks absolutely free.
The sweet gum will need stabilizing and drying though it'll be worth it -- the spalting is phenomenal. [;)]
Pay it forward [8D]

Jeffj13 (Jeff J) sent the first email.
So, he'll be getting the blanks and the chain-mail curse:
"If you don't forward more blanks to someone else, you will have the IAP curse put on you and recieve no woody blessings....may all your blanks blow apart!!"
Heck, at least you're safe from that.

Cheers,
Gary

Jeff,
Your blanks were mailed this morning. The spalted blanks must be stabilized; it can be as simple as frequent mild doses of CA while turning, but it will be necessary. Additionally, were I to use them now, I'd do the microwave drying routine first.
Enjoy, and post pics after you use them.
Regards,
Gary

anyone looking to pay forward? I'm in need of kits and/or blanks. for blanks I'm looking for something other than "basic" walnut or cherry sorts of stock. I'd like (not that beggars can be picky) "fun" either exotic, burl or spalted. I've got plenty of oak, cherry, and walnut stock from my flat work.

I have some "basic" walnut/cherry blanks that I would also like to pay forward. PM me.

Maverick,

Are you still looking for some blanks for pay-it-forward?

I could send a couple of several different types including some Koa, Cedar, Ipe, African Blackwood, ?

Let me know.
