Went to a friends house last night to watch the screech owls they have. Two adults and 4 little ones. Very fun to watch. Didn't get a pic of the little ones, but got this one of the 2 adults. We have become bird watchers of late, with the help of our oldest daughter, Grace, and have a couple of places just outside of the city we go to on occassion. There are some beautiful birds around.

We had about 6 of them take up residence in the stadium bleachers at the University I work at a couple of years ago. Once nesting time came around they split up. I still see a pair of them often on my morning walk to work. They are great for keeping the Pigeons in check.

If they like pigeons send some my way.

I'll post a pic later, but just this morning I got a shot of a Woodpecker that visits the dead top of a tree in my yard.

I was up at a block of land we own the other morning waiting for the tree lopper with his mulcher. There were two groups of Butcher Birds in action singing and chortling away.

One group was ensconced in the trees, the other on the power pole cross-arms. was beautiful to listen to but then things became serious. These melodic songs were no other than warnings from each group to buzz off or bring it on. For a brief moment the singing stopped and the spectacular air war began.

Great to be in the right place at the right time!!!
