I was down in the dungeon turning a new casting, which was looking pretty nice, and all of a sudden my lathe made a terrible noise and the lights dimmed. I turned it off and checked everything, but didn't see anything wrong. I turned it back on and it was ok, so I thought. It started making that noise again and the motor started smoking.
When I touched the motor it was so hot my finger sizzled.
