After just reading a few threads about dogs I thought it would be interesting to see who all has pets or "babies"! Anyone care to share? Here's our story....

In 2004 my sweetie was diagnosed with Cancer and we knew she would be in for a rough ride for a few years so I got her a little companion to make sure she never got lonely and to keep her spirits up.

He is a Yorkshire Terrior or "Yorkie" and his name is Herbie and now, 3 1/2 years later, according to my wife, has completly turned traitor and become a "daddys boy"!

The day we brought him home...

Traitor... I don't think so, you be the judge! :)

This is our dog, we "allowed" Uncle Donnie to buy the kids a dog for easter about 4 years ago when we realized Shadow was not going to last much longer. Grandma actually bought her, since Uncle Donnie was so busy. When she got home with her I couldn't believe she actually paid good money for the dog, she weighed in at all of 4oz and the vet said she wouldn't live but a couple more days.

Well, we started her right out on goats milk and lots of good food and vitamins and she made it. She never even wanted to play with the kids until she hit about 3 years old, which I find highly unusual but I guess with her start in life I can't blame her.

BTW, we let my daughter name her, so her name is Baby.

Our saga started a little over 8 years ago when we were given a cat by the owner of my company. "Fatty" was so fat her belly dragged on the ground but she was a very lovable cat and she had a great personality. After we bought our house "Mocha Rose" came into our lives.

here is a photo of the two together:

Here is "Mocha" on her first Halloween with us:

A couple years after "Mocha", our neighbor's split up and they ended up losing their house so "Mocha's" playmate "Zebo" came to live with us. Here is a picture of his first night with us ( he had to be shaved because he was so infested with flea's and his fir was tangled and matted):

A couple years ago "Fatty" passed away and we were devastated. We went to the animal shelter and adopted a special needs cat named "Gracin" whose name was promptly changed to "Gray son". He's a hoot!:

While we were there we were taken by two more cats, "Oscar" and "Jax" who were also promptly renamed to "Os-Kar" and "Fat-Jak":

"Fat-Jak" Who now weighs in at 27 lbs!:

A few months later I was in the animal shelter with my monthly donation of food and supplies when another cat captured my heart and that was when "Rosa" became a member of the pack:

Then last spring another little cat showed up outside and momma began calling to it and it started "chirping" back. She fell for this one and we left food out and created a shelter for it until we finally got it in the house about a month ago. Out final addition who was referred to as #5 has been renamed "Lucky" and here he is:

So there you go folks. The "mudder pack"

Todd, Baby ain't got nothing on Herbie when it cones to begging! :)

He's got a one paw stance and has the "look" look down pat and can stare you down for as long as it takes. He hasn't met a heart he couldn't melt yet!:D

She is an Abyssinian/tabby mix the best I can figure. Mostly the aby though. SAhe was my dads cat and we were roommates at the time of him passing so now she's mine.

Andrew,

There is a really good history of the NAID breed and what they are trying to do at www.majesticview1.com. The main reason we got them is they supposedly have 3 major features: 1) they are hypo-allergenic, 2) they never smell like stinky dog (even when wet), 3) they only shed once or twice a year. That last one is true for the fuzzy one but the white one started shedding last winter and never stopped. She sheds less than other dogs but still sheds.

Well Linda and I have a small menagerie.

First off here are our newest family members. Mystique (Teak for short) & Karlee. They are sisters almost 15 months old. Teak weighed in at 76# today at the vet.

These three are our Fids. The red and green ones are the same species Vosmarie Eclectus and are female and male. They are Ruby & Ekko. The little white angel is Willow, she is a Citron Cockatoo.

The last little guy is JC who use to belong to Linda's folks. He is an ornery little cuss but will crack you us with the things that he will say and use in context. He is also a Momma's Boy.

Mike, is that an African Gray Parrot? He's a beauty.

I thought so. Just wasn't sure as he looks pretty small. He must be young. Thanks for posting the pictures of him, they brought back some wonderful childhood memories :)
