Anyone have any clue what this stuff is? Found this tonight when I pulled in my driveway. Things are about the size of a baseball up to a softball. A few are smaller.

Any ideas?

Some kind of evergreen tree I presume. Its been sprouting these tine little pine cones about the size of an air gun BB for a few weeks. MY wife says this is what her Blue Spruce done as it grew, without the orange "fruit". But these orange things seemingly sprouted up overnight, possably from the time we went to eat and came back. I plan on taking a better, unfuzzy pic as soon as daylight hits.

I've seen these on some of our juniper/aromatic cedar trees. They don't appear every year and only in the spring (I think). It seems to be some sort of excretion coming out of a little odd-shaped cone(?). The trees don't seem to suffer any damage from them and there are no signs of any insects. I would be interested in knowing more about them also.

That looks like its what this thing haves. I have the "rust gall" on mine too. I didn't think that my description would be that close, just needed to add the word horns. I had better pics to post but seems unnecessary now. Thanks Karl.

Well, heres the better pics. A little less fuzzy.

Thanks Ben, that's much better. Now I am completely grossed out. That is the strangest thing I've ever seen. It looks like it would be slimy or sticky. Oooohhhyyy ggggooooeeeeeyyyy.
