Got a great offer today... go back to work for a place I used to work for about 8 years ago... sorry to leave them the first time.

Anyhoo, I need to check out the Orange Beach Alabama area, and was just wondering if anyone had any information about the area....

Thanks :D

Only thing I need to know is they have hurricanes. No thanks. I've been turning down jobs in Biloxi for the same reason. But it sure would be closer to home and I'd be in the South again.

Just be careful of father's throwing children off of bridges! Admittedly a bad joke, I saw Dauphin Island on your map and remembered the newspaper article.

Hope you will be happy in your new job and your family is onboard with the move!!

I have a friend in Loxley, been down there a few times, theres alot of decent places near buy that don't get blown away yearly, Mobile is jumping.

Marc,

You must be a tortoise or a turtle in your previous life!!! [}:)] Pray tell, how many times have you moved the last 5 years? You must have moving/relocating turned to an art. ;) LOL

I read the longer version at WWing and this sounds promising. Hope this is the last (for a while) and good luck!!!

We might have hurricanes in this area (I'm about an hour 30 min east of there), but at least we have plenty of warning and can leave if need be. Not like with tornadoes.

Great beaches, white sand that squeaks when you walk on it. Great fishing. One draw back, the tourists that come to this area during the summer. Traffic in Destin Fla in the summer is unreal. If you are into wood carving, there is a guy in Foley Al that sells carving tools and wood.
Best of luck to you

You must be somewhere around Panama City? ... I lived in Panama City for 4 years.... about 8 years ago. The new job, if it all goes well, will be centered in Panama City, but I will be working all over the panhandle...

Truthfully, I have lost count. It would take quite a bit of research to get an accurate count! ... man, that's sad eh....

Funny, never entered my mind! ... I mean, California, where I am from, has earthquakes, the gulf, including Texas and Florida, has hurricanes, the Midwest has tornadoes, blizzards and cold in the north...

I figure if there are others living there, must be at least sorta OK!

Outside of Fort Walton Beach. Drop me a line if you get back down this area. I know we don't know each other, but heck, I can always come over and help you set up your shop. The furniture in the house can wait.:D

I like it, and I work out of New Orleans, 268 miles away. Glad I don't have to drive to work everyday.
