Everyone,

I sold my first pen on Christmas day to my sister, who wanted it for her preacher. She just called and has given me 12 months notice that she now wants to by a pencil kit in BOW. What, in everyone's opinion, is the best pencil kit out there?

I sold her a Jr. Gent II in BOW, and she was very impressed with it. What would be the best pencil kit?

Regards,
Brad

Quite a few of the pencil kits out there don't function as well as one would hope. I would buy the Schmidt DSM 2006 pencil mechanism from Berea or one of their resellers and a push-button Sierra. (since I prefer PB mechanisms) You will have to trim the tube a bit to make the kit work with the Schmidt mechanism and it might look too short to you so you might want to trim it a little less and use the included spacer. A simpler solution might be to look at the PSI Gatsby pencil kit.

If you prefer a twist mechanism, almost any twist pen that uses the Parker refill will accept a Schmidt mechanism. I put one in a cigar kit.

I turned one of Woodcrafts Wall Street II pencils last week to make a set for a friend. Not sure of the reliability but it looks good..
