Opinion on lining needed

I need opinions. I'm making this pen, a lost or dead soul is basically what it is. Something like that anyhow. The Lid of the box says R I P. I was going to line the inside with red felt. Only red felt here in the house has red sparkles on it, that's no good. My wife went to the store, so she's going to pick up a piece. I found this material in the closet with pirate skulls on it. I cut a piece of black felt to fit the box then wrapped it with the fabric and sewed it together. Does it look ok? Does it match? Good idea? Wait for the red?

kind of takes away from the pen, which is probably suppose to be

I would use the red. You can do red flocking or use red felt. That should be very easy to find. Any craft store or wally world carries red felt.

Ok, what if I make a new box, keep this lining and put this pen in this box? I think this pen matches the pirate lining much better.

lol, ok thanks. Fortunately I have a spare coffin case. I wanted to actually make the case into a coffin shape, but the wood wasn't wide enough and I couldn't afford to go buy more. This will do.

Jeff, fyi... if you go to the local auto parts store, and look where they have the replacement threaded door knobs, you should find most stores carry an after market set that have chrome skulls with red eyes....and when you uncrew the chrome shafts, the tapped holes in the base of the skulls are a perfect match to fit on top of a cigar pen in place of the screw on cap that holds the clip in place..... aaaargh!

Are you talking for door locks or do you really mean the ones for your tire valves? Cool idea, btw.
