Got a call from Edman2 a/k/a Freddie Pike about a week ago. He said he and the wife wanted to come this way and see the fall colors in the Arkansas Ozarks. He asked if he could come by and bring me some Osage Orange. Well, of course, always happy to change an e-friend into a friend-friend. Freddie and lovely wife actually found my place and we had a nice visit. He brought me more than just "some" Osage Orange. His little truck rear end came up about six inches after we got these huge hunks off. Lot of great wood in those pieces, I know I'll have a lot of fun with it. Now, I'm feeling guilty. I let him go home with only a small piece of Dogwood in return. I'll have to correct that situation. Bad news is the fall colors weren't really ready that day. But, two days later (yesterday) they were spectacular.

I had a really nice visit with Frank and had the joy of bringing him the wood I rescued from the city brush pile this summer. If I lived closer I might be tempted to sneak up onto his deck and watch the deer feed in his back yard. A really great place with woods all around. Uummm...I'm not supposed to covet am I! Enjoyed the visit and seeing his shop and tools. Uummm...I'n not supposed to covet am I! I did get to drive back into the southern Ozarks for a meeting on Monday and enjoyed the change in the colors of the trees. I'm the richer for the meeting.
