What is a good wood to use to make Honey dippers. Can i use white oak or maple I know something with spalting is not good or walnut But what else do u recommned.

I would use hard maple, but I think any good hard close grain wood would work, White Oak might work, but it's pretty open grain wood.

I'd stay away from any highly colored or oily wood too. as those pigments/oils might leach into the honey.

I would be careful as to the type of polish finish you use. Some finish products say not to be used on food stuff. Use the stuff they use on salad bowls I guess.

I make honey dippers from hard maple and don't finish them with anything other then burnishing them with wood shavings and then apply mineral oil.

I prefer hard maple because it turns like butter and doesn't splinter. No finish needed.

Apple would be nice or any fruit wood would work. I made a muddle stick using apple looks great.
