Hi, all -

I was able to finish another Gatsby Grande yesterday. This one in crotch Claro walnut, finished in BLO and CA. Had a bunch of issues with the CA on this one. Finished, and found white spots. Sanded that mostly gone, refinished, white spots better, sanded through finish in one spot. Repeated, another sand through. Finally got it, wiping with denatured alcohol between sprays of accelerator and every grit of wet sanding.

Thanks for looking.
Scott

Beautiful pen! Not a fan of the Gatsby though. Besides that, beautiful!
Thanks! You know, I was going to make a Trimline out of mesquite for my Texan brother, and found that, somehow, out of seemingly hundreds of PSI and amazon orders, I hadn't picked up a 27/64" bit. So, another Gatsby Grande. I'm a fan of them, though.

Nice Pen.

I too am a fan of the Gatsby line of kits (regular, grande, click). I like that the trim in the center of the pen matches that at the clip/finial.

Claro can be a beautiful timber with many blanks, yours is very nice - well done. I sympathize with your CA issues; (consider Glu Boost). ;)
