...I promise. (fingers crossed)

The process I have in my head is:

1) Pour the heated Simlar41 into a dish.

2) Add the Mica

3) Add the catalyst

4) Pour into the mold/s

My question is at what point do I add the additional colors for the swirls and stuff? I assume I am supposed to mix these colors separately and add them sparingly, but if I wait until I add the catalyst, will I have time to swirl them?

Chris:
The proceedure you have here is correct. I modify it just a little, and I learned this mostly by experimenting. Instead of one pour, I may use 4 "1/4" pours. For example, one red with mica, one yellow with mica, one blue with mica and one gold . Then I add the mekp in each of the four, then a pour a little red in the mold, then a little yellow, then swirl. Add a little blue, then swirl, then gold and swirl. This gives me better color seperation than mixing all the colors together.

For your first pour, you may want to stick with one color and just add mica pearl and swirl. The mixing process will com with practice.

I suggest keep a "log" or recipe notebook of what you do each time, so when you hit on a formula you like, you can repeat it, consistantly

There really is no need to pre-heat the resin unless the storage temp is well below 65-70. Then, best case scenario is to allow it to warm to room temp before using. Besides, this stuff is flammable and heating it will only increase it's output of volitle fumes.
