I've spent the last three nights watching my oldest son's high school productions of Oklahoma! Phil plays Judge Carnes - Ado Annie's father. I had no idea he could sing like that......

Here are some fun pics of him (he's the one with the gun. Can you tell Im really proud of him??????!!:D

More and more, I'm realizing that his senior year will be gone very shortly. I'm going to miss all of this.......

Great pictures. One of my most favorite things: "Building memories with family". Bet you'll remember this for a long time.

As a vetern teacher I am still amazed at the talent our (your) kids have! You are rightfully proud of him! Wish I could have seen it live, one of my favorite high-school productions.

What is getting me at this late time in his final year of high school is how excited he can get at things that, for me, are not particularly exciting. Then - because of his excitement, I get interested. He is infectious this way - and I am just figuring out now that it is part of what keeps me going every day.

I also look at all those kids on stage and I think to myself, just 10 years ago they were 6-8 years old. Who would have ever thought they would get to a point where they could do this kind of a production? It was only a few years ago they were dancing around to canned music in an elementary school gym doing what their music teacher told them to do at whatever moment they had to do it ..........

I went to where Phil works today (Jimmy John's Sandwhich Shop) and had lunch with him. He was glad I stopped in (I never do while he is working). I'm going to do this more often. I'm just too busy with my teaching, playing, and side business. Time to stop and spend more time with these guys.

I could go on and on - but the bottom line is - you are both right - we should be impressed with what our young people can do and we should keep building those memories. I won't ever forget this one. I just wish I could see him in another one...........

Best,
Roger Garrett

Jimmy John's - YUM! #5 is my favorite! The time really does go by so quickly. My oldest turned 23 last week and my youngest turns 13 next week.

Having daughters sure changes one's opinion of "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No."
