Just got this oak burl unloaded and into the shop.
I just love fighting 500lbs of Oak.
My Camera is about to die so I have been forced to cut way back on pics.

Hope you enjoy

Gary I got the Box Elder, now what do I do with it?? which place do I drill and tap for the insert??
it is some pretty wood, I just can't wait to get all the orders out so I can play.

Here's what she look like sitting in my shop----as soon as Ken sends me some of that extra time he has boxed up I will cut her down.

What kind of Oak is that? The bark is a lot different than the Oaks I seen on the West Coast. If you from CA, I would have though it was a Cottonwood.

Nice find!!! Post some photos of the slabs when you get them.

If I was going to guess from the first photo, I'd say it's Chestnut Oak. The wide, deep furrows are a telling characteristic.

We are going to cut her up on Thursday. Dang thing has almost turned into a party. At last count there are going to be 4 people coming over to watch.
