I think this actually the first post I have ever started...

Anyway, I just want to throw out a notice to anyone in the regional Upstate New York/New England area that the Northeast Wookworkers Association is having its 18th annual woodworking showcase this weekend in Saratoga, NY. Here is the Web site with more info : http://www.nwawoodworkingshow.org/

There are usually 100's of pieces exhibited from small boxes and toys, to large furniture and canoes, and even a large area of turning pieces. There are not usually many pens, but I will have a few on display. I will also have the cradle on display that has been taking up much of my free time lately (pics will be posted when I them). I really missed the lathe. Glad to be back!

This event is also being held in conjunction with the Adirondack Woodturners Association's "Totally Turning" symposium, which is a more specialized and much more expensive venue with exhibitors and in structures from around the world.

Cheers....

Just so you don't feel that your post is in vain, I'll et you know that I'll be at the show on Saturday (absorbing as many of the turning demos as possible). I've seen your work in the past and looking forward to see what you're bringing this year. I've only enter once because of the restrictions of having your item(s) there on Friday and not being able to take it home until late Sunday. Maybe we'll run into each other. Bob I.

Day one was good and there was a large showing. This was especially surprising with the beautiful weather yesterday. Today is one of those days that's better for the ducks so let's hope the turn out (pun intended) is even better.

Note - there are hundreds of turning pieces on display. It amazing me to see the vast amount of skill people have out there. It is really humbling...

I did, however, win my first ribbon for the segmented pen I have posted under my profile! Completely surprised! First place deservingly went to a very large segmented vessel/bowl.

Hope to see those that can make it.
