It does take more effort to make them this way where four rings cut actually look like eight but I do think it adds considerably to the appearance .
Hopefully pricing them a little higher will be justified.
I have ordered a 6" riser block for my band saw to raise the cutting depth to 12" because I am limited to 6" now and it requires extra glue up and planing time to do it like this for a 8" one or any size over 6" . These two are both eight inch diameter.

Woods in these two are combinations of Red Oak, Black Walnut, Birch and Santos Mahogany.

Excellent bowls. I like them both, but the one on the right, (#42, perhaps) is really outstanding, to me. By the way, greetings from Spokane, WA-- another turner who is "in your neighborhood." Thanks for posting these.
