This is just shy of 4" long so it may not qualify for a nub, but anyway.
I also wish I would have had a 'Nub' cigar band but didn't.
This looks really cool in dim light or near dark. I tried to take a picture of it in the dark but it did not look good. As a prototype it turned out OK but I'll make some changes on the next one. BTW, it has a single AAA flashlight inside.

Here is the 2nd one. I should have picked a better blank as the wood grain is too straight and defined. I moved the seam up and shortened the ash. To me this is more realistic because the only way you would see the glow of the burn is if the loose ashes were knocked away. I also was able to get a better picture in low light. I showed the fist one to a co-worker and as he was reaching for it he immediately drew his hand back because he thought it was burning and would be hot. A natural reaction that indicated to me that the desired realism was achieved.

Dale, pm me your address and I can send you a couple of Nub Cigar bands from my humidor if you like.

BTW, the lights look good.

Chris, thanks for the offer. However, I did find one in a bag of bands that were given to me recently. The problem is that that cigar usually has a very large girth, about a 62 I think. I'll have to see if I can find some suitable 1" stock to make one.
It's not a necessity but I have always tried to research the cigar band and adapt the size, shape and color to be as realistic as possible. I'll let ya know if I need one.
Thanks all for the comments.
Now if I can figure out the fake smoke thing............

It is not a pen. It has a flashlight inside.
That's why the post is in the 'Other things we make' section.

I guess the reason I asked is because I was thinking it had the appearance of being conjoined in the middle, like maybe it was a pen as well. You should see if you can create one like that.

Well, it does separate at the seam to remove or turn on the penlight flashlight.
I could make a cigar pen this length but it would need to use the mini refill, and I hate those things!

Actually, I did make one that uses a mini refill but it was not this short.
