In about two hours I'm going to drive up to my grandma's house to take up my grandfather's mantle. Out behind the house, she has 23 acres of forest and brush. My grandpa would go every year into the forest and come out with some beautiful photos and wood burls. Last year, he died of a heart attack the day after he went into the forest. My father is no longer my father (if ya'll catch the drift) so it's up to me to go in today. Bought a new hatchet and hacksaw blades, now all that's left is the resolve.

Sorry to hear about the loss of a loved one.
I think what you are doing to keep his memory alive is a very good thing.
His influence in your upbringing is reflected in your character.

Please ... post some of the photos for the rest of us to enjoy.

And as long as you do, your grandfather will be alive in your heart and soul.
