I know several of you will have a hearty laugh at us calling this snow, but here in Georgia, we dont get all that much. This is one of the best snows, it doesnt last long, and was pretty to look at. Its already above freezing and most of the stuff on the power lines and trees is melting off and falling to the ground. It took me 4 hours to get home through traffic because of the "pandamonium" the weather caused here in Atlanta...EEERRRRRGGGHHHH..but it was pretty this morning when we got out. We ended up with a solid 4 inches on the ground in most places, and a little more in a few spots. We just heard that the Covington/Conyers area was among the highest total for the state....at 6 inches. I guess some of ours melted before I measured it.

I wish I had Russell's nice background to show you, but our street will have to do!

We had 5 inches out our way. We were a little disappointed this morning though; we wanted to build a snowman with our 2 year old but the found the snow was just powder and not sticky at all.

Great photos! I've never seen that much snow before. Closest I've got was seeing snow on mountain tops from miles away, and then there was earlier last month when FL got some sleet, it was mostly rain with tiny bits of ice, sounded pretty neat too.

Hey Robert, we got about 4" here. Check out the photo's that I took of our back yard. It is called proof of global warming... I am blessed to have such scenery in my back yard. Russell

Very nice photos. Here's my contribution to snowjam 2010 Atlanta. It was taken from my back porch and the trees actually glittered in the morning sunlight.

Russel,

Stockbridge seems to be in a snow belt here in the Atlanta area. I lived there for 20+ years and we would always get more snow than the surrounding areas of south Atlanta. I live in Conyers now, around 15 miles away and we only got a bit over two inches, so thankfully most of it was East of us in Covington. Either way, what I like about the snow in Atlanta most is that it is usually gone in a couple of days:biggrin:

Great photos! Had about 6 inches here in Social Circle when I measured it late Friday evening, but it must have compacted down over the night, as it looked more like 4 inches Saturday morning. Getting this small amount of snow once or twice a year is just fine with me. Just enough to remind me what it looks like. We've been in GA for 16 years now, but the memories of winter in Upstate NY has not been forotten. Getting up to a 30" snowfall and only being able to see the roof rack on your minivan isn't something I want to experience again in this life. Still, the grandkids love seeing snow once in awhile, so I can live with what we get here in North GA.
