A while back I sent one of my 3/4" pen mill heads to Nolan for modification-carbide cutters in place of the questionable steel. I got it back a few weeks ago and have done 25-30 pens worth of blanks, wood, acrylic and tru stone, since then. I am REALLY impressed. I trimmed blanks for 15 pens last night, only three of which were single barrel and it trimmed the last one just like it trimmed the very first one after I got it back. At the rate it's going I think I can probably get 100 pens worth before it needs sharpening. I recommend this without hesitation. Now, I just have to find my other 3/4" head so I can send it off to be modified.

Thanks for the recommendation Gerry I've got some Florentine blanks I owe Nolan so I guess I'll send him one of my 3/4 heads also.

Glad to here it Gerry, I have about 150 on mine so far and still doing like the first. I dont use it as an end though and mill off a 1/4 inch. Also I think everyone knows that Paul (Paul in OKC) will sharpen them and if he cant I can. BTW all those new cutter heads that just got bought in the group buy need tipping:D

Everything we have ever gotten from Nolan has been of great quality. I guess I had better gather a couple of my mills and send them to him as well. I think I will wait until the order from Daniel comes in first.

Anyone remember how much it is per cutter? $25-$40?
