Because it is fun and you get a chance to meet your fellow pen turners and trade secrets ( and maybe blanks), also you may be able to find an answer to that one problem you are having that one of your fellow turners may be able to help you with.

I'll see if I can get an address. At least for the school. Since it's a brand new building, GPS may or, may NOT work. Check back later. Hope you can make it.
