My name is Chris and I found this forum after having my wife tell me I needed a hobby and then tell me what she thought I needed. I think she just wanted free fancy pens.

Slowly getting better. Actually have sold a few. Learning a few new tips and tricks as I go. Need to fine tune some of my equipment, like a pen press. But, overall am very happy with my results.

Welcome from the Phoenix area. I'm also new to the hobby
and new to IAP. My wife and family members have been the recipients
of almost all of my pens so far, which seems to have built up
quite a bit of good will. :)

Chris,

Visited Utah a few times our third daughter lives in Logan Utah has for over ten years now.

Have friends in many places in the US.

Welcome to penturning having commenced you will find heaps of members telling you where to go next, what to do etc but satisfying to me is you are creating good memories for friends and families around you, I still have to find anything that compares with hand made presents such as pens.

Enjoy the journey, I do.

Kind regards Peter.

Here is a recent pen. Penn State bolt action with an oak center. Nothing too fancy yet. Still doing ballpoint kits.

Sorry about the low quality pics, camera died and using my cell. Still need a light box.

Let me get this straight, your WIFE encouraged you to spend this much money? Wow. Lucky man.

Yes she did and now she is going to be a grandma this summer I get to spend more. Need to upgrade my little HF 8x12 to something a little bigger. Still on a budget, is the HF 10x18 worth it? The little one will be demoted to drilling blanks and polishing most likely. Or letting the boys learn how to operate one.

Was looking at the Jets, Rikons, and so on, but wife said she needs this that and the other, sos, I have to cut back the budget a bit. The little one was fine for starters, just can't get it to be perfectly inline between headstock and tailstock.
