I have been casting with a simple kit from Barry Gross, that you pour the resen in and let it sit, pour more etc and the blanks have been commin out fine. I see alot of people using a pressure pot, why? Are they casting witht he same stuff I am?

Is there a basic write up on basic casting, I am starting to make some nice blanks and don't want them to get screwed up.

I am a big fan of don't fix what ain't broke. Some here use pressure to cast PR and Alumalite, some use vacuumn, some use nothing at all.

Don Ward wrote the attached instructions on "bubble free" casting and IMHO his casts are as good as any I have seen, regardless of the method. When my pressure pot blew a seal I adopted Don's method and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Look in the library and you will find several articles on casting.
Do a good turn daily!
