I just received my new catalog after making a personal request to customer service. It seemed to me that the pen section was very similar to the one in the previous catalog so I put them both on the kitchen table and compared them page for page. There are a few new items and a few missing items. Thought I would take a minute and mention the changes that I detected as some folks are still not in possession of their new copies.

The big news, of course, which everyone already knows about is the new Jr. Retro kit. A number of pictures have already been posted but I don't recall mention of the fact that this kit uses the same drill bits and bushings as the Jr. Gentlemen's kit. It comes in 10k gold, rhodium, and copper.

Another new item is colored pen tubes for the Slimline, European, Cigar, Gentlemen's/Statesman, and the Jr. Genlemen's II/Jr. Statesman II kits. There are black tubes for use with darker acrylic blanks and nickel plated tubes for use with the lighter colored blanks.

There are new platings for some of the kits;
Chrome for the Slimlines
Copper for the Jr. Gentlemen's II kits and
Both chrome and copper for the Cigar pens.

Of particular interest to me is a new line of premium acrylic blanks in 13 different colors/patterns, one of which is the crushed shell pattern which I just love. I've seen pictures of pens made with this blank and drool over them. Unfortunately, this pattern was discontinued some time ago and I could never get any of those blanks for myself. I'm fix'en to order some right away, needless to say!!!

There are a few other new items; but none of major interest to most.

On the down side, if you didn't order any of those Royal Yew blanks which were a "NEW" item in the last catalog, you are probably out of luck. They are no longer in the catalog or on the web site. I guess they are discontinued?? The Woodworkers pencil kit is no longer in the catalog; but it is still on the web site. Don't know if this a CSUSA oversight or if this kit is on the way out as well.

That's it from the world of CSUSA for right now, CIAO!!

I noticed something else new about CSUSA on their website. It seems that they have discontinued their monthly specials for turning groups and pen making groups that used to be at the bottom of the home page. Sorry to see that go. Hopefully it is temporary.

I wish they would update their website to show Retro`s and Jr Statesman that has threaded end.
It is more like a hobby than a proper business.[V]

Somebody better run to Frank's place - between the awesome recognition of his work that was waiting for him on his answering machine and now this news, I don't know that his poor heart will be able to take much more!

Randy, I tried to order some of that royal yew last fall...probably summer or late summer for the rest of you. Evidently that stuff went fast. I new I should have ordered some of that as soon as I saw it in the catalog. [V]

JimGo, give us a warning so we can set our beverage down, please?
