I said I never wanted to go through losing a dog again, but it just doesn't seem right around here without a little friend. I think I found the one.

I'm trying to get enough money to adopt this puppy from a rescue center. She is a 5 month old purebred Beagle. The adoption fee includes being spayed (she's going in tomorrow), micro chip, shots up to date and wormed, heartworm preventative, and a leash and collar that has a lifetime replacement. She is adorable!!

They call her Cammy. I didn't care for it at first, but it's starting to grow on me. We've been through the first interview, one more. We should get to see her next week since she's having surgery in the morning.
She will definately be worth it. A nice addition to the family and best of all, we will be saving her life.

Rescues are such a great place to find a great pet. After getting mine from one, I don't think I'd go anywhere else. It's such a great thing and they really do make the best pets. Enjoy your "Cammy", it's a cute name.

Very cute. Rescues are awesome. I work with Heart Bandits for American Eskimos. I foster dogs; and rescue them from the pound just hours before they are scheduled for the ...
You are lucky to find such a cute good little girl to join your family. Hope the surgery goes well, and she heals fast so she can quickly join her new family.

Ain't beagles the best??? Mine used to nap around camp when she got too old to chase bunnies.
Good luck with the "adoption."

YES they are. Great all around dog. Dozer was with us for 16 years and I hope we can give Cammy the same.

Mark,
I am pretty excited to get through the process and get her home. She just became available yesterday. I thought about fostering, but I don't think I would be able to let them go. It's so easy to become attached.

We got two that my older brother breeds and then sells the pups. We got 4 pups right now that he'll sell in about a month or so. I don't know when, but they don't even have there eyes open yet.

We just took in a Siberian Husky (yeah in AZ) from a lady that was moving and didnt have a back yard at her new place.

I have lost my 1/2 of the bed.

He steals off Sean's plate, more or less he is fed off Sean's plate.

He likes to dig in a trash can if he can get the lid off and he can.

Some how yesterday he opened up the pantry door and wanted rice a roni for lunch. yeah

He proceeded to open the bathroom closet that was not shut all the way and have fun cleaning the rice from his teeth with q-tips.

sniffs butts

has a beautiful black and white coat

Ice blue eyes

talks to you or back to you

likes to play

good with sean

oh and my wife is happy, SOOOO I guess I am happy with the mutt.

Name is Kato, somehow no matter what they grow on you. Glad you are getting a new one James, it does get a little boring without them.

Then my life will NEVER be boring.

We have 8 rescues in the house right now (6 huskies and 2 lab mixes) and lost our first Husky in April 2007 (that was devistating).

Dozer, she is a cutie.

Good job James. Rescues are the best pets by far. Lost Buck about a year ago after 17 years. My wife and I made the decision not to replace him because we both work out of town and that would be too much on a new dog and hard on us. Looking forward to having a new shop buddy although it's still hard to think about the one I lost.
She looks like she'll fit right in.

It might be worth fostering. Last time I fostered a dog, she came in to me at 5 weeks old and stayed for 12 years. When they told me that they had someone to adopt her, I told them that I already did and sent them a check. I now have 2 other rescue dogs.:)

My very first dog (my own) was a beagle. I traded my mom my parakeet for him when he was just a puppy. She wanted to get rid of him (so she said) because he was always into everything. I named him Hugo. My very best friend for many years. Boy did he like to hunt rabbits!

Just wanted to update everyone.

We received some very sad news today.

After filling out the application and clearly stating we have no children, the rescue called us. We went through their interview still stating we have no children. All seemed to go well and the girl we spoke with all but said she was ours. We just needed to go through the formality of a second interview as per policy, then she would be coming home with us.

Well, we were contacted today and were told they wanted a family with children. I can't believe they would get our hopes up like that and not at least finish the process and get Cammy's opinion on it. I know she would have got just as much love or more here, as she will get anywhere else. If they want a family with children, they should not have called after reading our application.

We are pretty sad about this. We were so looking forward to bringing her home. We will continue to look for another little cutie, even though we thought we had found her.
