Here is one I was working on that needed all new parts. The filler was shot and too far gone to repair and the nib was corroded at the feed. It is a Morrison from the 1940's and was a converter fill pen when new, but it was a hard tube glued to the section.
Now for the new, this pen is now sporting a nib feeder and inner tube from a Jr.Gent style pen (without the metal section) and one of Lou's nibs.
Once the original section had the old nib, feeder, and the plunger filler removed, I found that I was able to gently drill 3/4 of the inside larger and tap the rest to match the plastic inner section from the Jr.Gent kit. The nipple where the old piston filler had the exact right size for a Schmidt converter to attach to the Jr.Gent stuff. I then put a bevel at the hole in the original section so that it looks just like a pen kit with a screw in nib assy. The original section is a screw in to the body just like our kits so refill is done just the same.
This pen will be a welcome home present for my Dad who is retired Navy. I think he will like it!
Nice save, Huh?
