These are just suggestions, take them or leave them as you wish.

In case some of you haven’t noticed, the IAP is broken down into 27 forums which were setup to bunch like minded posts together into conversation groups.

It seems that more and more lately, many new members are just putting their posts wherever they feel might get the most exposure regardless of the content. Please take a moment and at least look at the list of forums to see what’s there, you might find some interesting reading.

Another suggestion; while it’s true that on some internet forums there are so many posts being put up that you have to trick the audience into reading your post by writing catchy titles such as “What do you think about…†or “I can’t believe I just…â€. I don’t see that as a problem here so feel free to actually give a clue as to what your post is actually about.

I think by using “to the point†titles and placing them in the correct forums you will stand a better chance of getting replies to your questions rather than “Why did yo post that here?â€.

While the above needs no clarification, in my humble opinion, I'd just like to jump in with my support.

One thing that the majority of the members seem to have in common is the desire to be productive. Anything you can do to assist us (OK me) in getting to, and understanding, the point of each posting is greatly appreciated.

And, key words in the subject makes searching faster than searching the entire contents of a post.;)
Do a good turn daily!

Let's make it three in a row agreeing with you George! Besides being polite, putting your posts in the right forum will likely get better and more responses.

I disagree George. They're new and just need a little time to get organized. Lighten up.:D

Sad to see that you feel I need to lighten up Rick, I was just politely posting the obvious and making a few suggestions.

When you mouse over the top menu and hover over the FORUMS box, a drop down menu appears, pretty well showing all the different topic forums.

I don't know about you but I think this is pretty intuitive and well designed and I don't know how long it takes one to grasp what's going on.

When someone posts starts out with "I know this is the wrong place for this BUT...", I pretty well get the idea that they know what they are doing.

There are a million ways to debate this which I won't do, I just made a recommendation, which readers are free to heed or not!

Smokey, Could you imagine the chaos if there weren't 27 forums and only one or two? You would have to sift through hundreds of posts a day and scroll through several pages of posts just to keep up with what's going on.

I absolutely agree. It has bugged me for months. It isn't that hard to put a post in the correct forum, just takes a bit of thinking. And I believe the names of the forums are pretty self-explanatory.

I agree.

"Catchy" and "cute" titles are fine for Casual Conversation but all else, I think should have descriptive titles. Really makes searching faster as mentioned.

I won't even touch posting on the proper forum...I got burned by telling someone before.

Good post George!

Yeah but not in the business classifieds! :D

BTW, how do you get rust off?[:p]

You know, it must be cabin fever. While it is nice to see posts in an appropriate forum and it is nice to see thread titles that tell me what is in them, I don't have enough time to get annoyed if either of these two things are not done. I also don't have time to get annoyed if a thread gets a bit lost while someone "runs a rabbit". In a perfect world, I like to see a bit less concern for perfection. :D

Thank you... exactly my thoughts, and also my policy on the forum that I moderate... I learned from an excellent Moderator that less really is more... and I have tried to follow that advice when the urge to "Moderate" comes on me...

I would like to tell people to think about what they are typing. If you are typing what you are feeling at the moment and not thinking it through, it may not come across the way you intended it to. I have certainly been guilty of this before and got into some heated discussions that could have been avoided if I would have waited about five minutes or so before I posted a reply.

I feel there is another point to make, I've done this before where i thought i was viewing one forum but i was actually in another and posted their by mistake, i edited it when i caught my mistake so a mod can move it. Sheesh this forum acts like everyone has to be perfect and never make mistakes.

Making a mistake VS doing things intentionally are totally different things.

The original post's intent (the way I understood it) is to make people aware of the issues that result from some INTENTIONAL actions (i.e. making "catchy" titles that doesn't help tell of the issue, posting on other forum to get more input, etc.)
