So where does one go to find inlay penkits? Or can someone help me out if I was to mix my own acrylic pen blank material.

Welcome! There is a lot of info and help here. I have been a member for a few weeks, and have turned only a handful of pens and I think that in that short time, this place has copped off several years of trial and error from my turning career.

Welcome. Glad you are having so much fun already.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

Hi Louie,
Welcome to the group... don't know how far you are from Champaign/Urbana but there's a Midwest Penturners Gathering there on April 17 at the Carpenters hall... it's being organized by Cozee here on the IAP... if it's convenient, come by and meet some of the group.

If the creeks don't rise, I'm planning to be there... my grandbabies all live in the CU area.

Thanks to everyone for your warm welcome, and for the information provided. I can see there is quite a bit of support around. Thanks Again !!! Louie Bufalo, Louie56
Nice to hear from other Louie !!!
