I've been turning pens for a few months. Segmented pens have caught my attention. I wish penturning would have been around 35 years ago when I started teaching. Our lathes would have seen a lot more use. I taught HS Industrial Arts for 10 years and then moved to industry to teach welding and become a CWI and QC inspector for Ameren, the local utility. Since retiring I have been enjoying my favorite hobbies of golf and playing in the shop. I enjoy old woodworking equipment and machine repair. I am active on the OWWM site and have been active with the O'WAMMO's group for the last three years. I am a memeber of the St. Louis Woodworkers Guild and the Show Me WoodTurners.

Hello from Webster Groves! I was hanging out at OWWM when Keith first started it up but now I'm down to only 1 piece of old iron - my Powermatic 65 that was built a month after I was born.

Where did you teach?

Welcome to the forum Dan. Check out the MPG thread, (midwest penturners gathering), being held in Bloomington, IL in April. Would be a chance to meet some of the local (relatively), turners and vendors. If you can make it I hope to meet you there.
