I purchased a mini metal lathe to make parts for the custom knives I make and thought I try turning some pens. I started with kits a couple months ago and have graduated to kitless fountain pens.. And thanks everyone for all your post, they have been a great help.

Welcome from another engineer on the other side of town, Danny.

We are planning a Houston-area get-together at the SW Houston Woodcraft store on April 30. I hope you'll be able to join us. We'll have more info as we get closer to it.

Hey Danny, good to see ya.......IAP's a great place to hang out. Lots of nice folks who know a whole lot about penmaking....and other stuff too. : )

Here is my first Fountain Pen. A Majestic with Desert Ironwood. CA finish.

I used a 5mm fine Bock nib. I made all the other parts including the taps. Front section is 9mm x 0.75 and the cap is 11mm x 0.75.
