Hello everyone

I turn alot of shavings but mostly have fun, always willing to learn, looks like there is alot to learn here. Have been turning 5 years and always enjoy pens. Thanks for allowing me to join. Reed

Depending on where you live in Colorado there are a few very fine turning groups - Denver, Pueblo and Colorado Springs to name a few.

There is a lot of good information found on this website
.

Welcome Reed. Your turning experience will definitely give you an advantage in turning pens. As you turn a few, post your results and offer some tips from your experience too!

Below is a link to a PDF file that goes over many aspects of pen turning from finish - to pens - to tools - to methods etc. It is not in detail but a good overview for pen turning. You already know most of this and probably have most, if not all of the major tools:

Also included below is a link to a new post that gives some information that people wished they had known earlier in pen turning. Some good information by those that make pens.

Hi Reed,
Welcome from VA, where if we have a few more days of rain I'll begin building my own Arc!!! Good news though... no yard work and more days to spend in the shop!
