Do you know if it has a rotating headstock to be able to turn larger items at 90 degrees? If so it looks like quite a lathe. But that Pinnacle looks awsome!

If you get it, let me know how it works out. I will be looking for a larger lathe real soon, and when I get one, I want a good one that will be versatile. I like the Oneways, but they are a little beyond me in price.

Rob,

I own a bigger lathe already and it probably will be my last lathe.

I can highly recommend the PM 3520B though. [;)]

NOt bad, but a bit light weight for an 18" swing. You would really need to add some weight to those legs unless your blank is perfectly round. But the price is nice and Laguna makes some nice bandsaws...

Heres the pic from their (Laguna) site cannot edit my original post anymore.

Looks very similar to Jet 1642.[8D]

Hi John,

In a way yes. There are just too many things that you don't consider when making the decision. I might end up working for another (get employed) again! Well, it is nice to dream and try though. [:D]

Hi, Like, 1725 mortor on a lathe, the step pulley gauge speed,in variable speed it would read 130-1700 something, then the step pulleys brings it up to speed,i think..

Randy,

I noticed that too and had the same question as you do. Hope someone can shed some light on this.

It could be a typo and possibly those are the range for 2 pulley settings.

What is the assembled ready to turn weight? If it is light - 400-550 pounds - I might seriously consider the Powermatic instead. Stability is build in with larger and heavier machines and adding weight in the form of sand bags, etc. just doesn't cut it with me and my line of thinking. Besides that, sandbags are a pain in the butt and are forever getting in the way or losing their sand and making a big mess, and .... etc. They are just something that one always has to deal with again and again. Been there and done that before and will never do it again!
