After a little thinking and lots of procrastinating I've finally started and finished my new lathe stand.
The base is made from 8/4 poplar cut 6"x20" with leveling feet each corner, the verticals are 1-3/4" ballisters, double thickness melamine top and the cabinet in the base is reinforced and holds everything solid and square. I'd estimate weight without the lathe at 175lbs and it's not going anywhere.
Now to fill those shelves. That should take me about 3 minutes.
