Hey all I just joined and will be lurking a bit.

Just bought a lathe, and tools and etc. also a pen starter kit.

I plan on getting the stuff all set up after the holidays, so I'll most likely have a few questions once I get started and get my feet wet. :)

First suggestion, pack it all back up and give it to someone you hate. You have not yet started to turn. Once that first piece of shaving falls upon the floor, then it will be too late, you'll be hooked by "The Addiction". right now, you are almost safe. You can still escape.

Just kidding. You have found the friendliest site on the net and one of the most fun and rewarding things around. Be sure and check out the library link in the upper right of the homepage. Any questions you may have, especially ones you have not found in the library, just post here, there will be volumes of info flowing your way.

Wow!! You folks sure make a guy feel welcome.

I hope to start setting everything up in Jan some time first I got to get some room in the garage (the wife won't let me set up in the house, she's funny that way :wink: ).

I figure I'll sell my bikes (I can't ride any more) and once that is done I should have plenty of room.

Welcome from Riverside here in So Cal. You might check the "Local Chapters" forum and see what's going on for the So Cal group. I haven't been able to go for some time. But they'll probably pick it up somewhere after the holidays.

How did you get interested? Tried turning yet?
