Greetings from North Central Ill! Been turning for about 10 months, been kinda hiding here for about 5 or 6. What a great bunch! You kind folks have taught so much in a short time, thanks all for all the reading material! I'd be nowhere near the level I'm at without the helpful tips from here, and a special shout out to my very good friend John U. Worked with him for years, he steered me towards this addiction, and the amount of extra supplies he has forwarded my way, believe me is absolutely priceless!
Anyway on to the screw up.... Been a tough week at work for my boss , so since I hadn't made her a pen yet, turned a quickie last night, nice lookin laminated maple (former cutting board material) and gold slim. Gave it to her this morning and lit her day up! Mission accomplished. Got back from my route tonight and she likes it so much, guess who wants 40 more for christmas gifts. Oh well guess my wife is gonna be a widow for the week!

An official "Welcome" Jake! Sounds like you went and done it now. Lol. I often suffer from that exact illness..."cantsayno" ! As for the extras, it was nothIng. You helped me out for years!!!! (sorry for the headaches) And I really appreciate it. I still often think, " what would Jake do". it's not the same office with you gone buddy. Merry Christmas to you and the family!

Thanks for the welcome! Hit number 23 today, with six more ready to turn. After that I'm at the mercy of the postal service! It's a local courier route Mike. Delivering industrial/machinery parts. No headaches john. we were always on the same page! Milwaukee in January eh? Sounds like fun!!! Might try for something later in the spring/summer, thanks for the invite!

If the post office is letting you down on time, let me know I probably have some kits in a box somewhere. I'm not using them and you can have them.
 
And Done!!!!! Shop is a wreck, postal service came through, and a great big THANKS to Turningz. Ordered 8 am friday morning, on my bench 9am monday!!! Life IS good this week. Now do I get my life back for a few days? Oh wait the wife has a list of gifts I'm supposed to make for her friends and family. Is it tacky to gift the parts and include a note "when I get to it?" :)
