Well, at 8:35 this morning I received a call that we had to have an emergency delivery. So I left work and flew across town and at 9:18 Bethany Marie was born. She weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces and is 16 inches long. She is breathing on her own but will be in the intensive care unit for the next 4 weeks.

Kellie is doing well and will be coming home on Friday.

Thoughts and prayers requested

Congrats! I am assuming she gave birth a little early, about two months? I hope the stay in the NICU is a good one. Make sure that they check for retenopethy in the eyes before the new one gets released.

BTW: i love the title in your photo album.

Eric, take a close look at those little fingers. You won't believe how easy it will be for her to wrap you around them! Little girls are special. Mine is 23, and called me from Hawaii last night wanting to know the best way to defrost hamburger to cook for supper. Yep, there are a lifetime of "Daddy's Girl" moments waiting for you!!

Congrrats! glad to hear Mom and baby are doing ok. As the proud father of 2 daughters I can say with confidence that life as you know it has now ended:DOur thoughts and prayers are with you. She'll be home before you know it!

Can't think of a more worthy subject for prayer, so mine are up for her. Congratulations...

Bethany is breathing without the aid of a CPAP. Her color is GREAT. Mom was able to hold her for the first time today. I hope to hold her tomorrow or Thursday.

Bethany is already holding her head up and has good reflexes.
