Hi... I am also very new to pen turning. I love working with wood, but I have very little space to work. I recently purchased a lathe at my local Rockler store and have turned a few pens, blew a few blanks apart and turned a bowl.

The picture attached from left to right is my first pen to my most recent. Each one I learn a little more and (try to) correct my mistakes.
(All and any criticism is welcome)

Russ

Welcome from afather New Englander ....:tongue::)

You ARE off to a good start! Be sure to save your first one to compare to the ones you will be making 6 months and a year from now! :)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I do have my first pen with me every day. I even see a huge differance in this one and the one I did this past weekend.

Welcome Russ, those are some nice looking pens. Great to have you and look forward to seeing more of your work. Remember, if you have a question abount wood turning here is the place to ask. Gary from North Alabama.

welcome from bristol CT looks like your coming along nicely you should try to turn a european pen it also uses the 7mm drill bit so all you would need to purchase is the kit and bushings have fun
