Was over at Sears on Saturday (replacing a bad tape measure) and did a little wandering around the power tools......

Well, I spotted a midi lathe that I haven't seen before......only the large one and one tiny one. On closer inspection...guess what.....It's a Rikon sporting a 'Craftsman' label & colors. Didn't check the price while I was there, so I went to their on-line site and looked it up......

Here's the link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921752000P?keyword=lathes

Just goes to show.....you never know where you could find your next lathe!

Nothing comes up but a weekly ad for me? Got a picture?

I do know that according to CraftUSA the rikon has been discontinued, which is why they are all onsale at places like WC and CS..

Also this one has a differnt switch then the standard rikon, also if youu look alittle closer, the tailstock is slightly differnt as is the mounting of the headstock and door.

I wouldnt say 100% it is a rikon rebranded, but could be, maybe a differnt model, made just for sears..

Yep .. quill and cam lock are on the front ,whereas Rikon puts it on the back.
But it still looks Rikonish

When in doubt, go to the source. I just got off the phine with Rikon and it is definetly not a Rikon lathe, it was a suprise to them that their lathe was copied as much as it was by whoever is making that lathe, but it is not a Rikon lathe.
