The church I'm starting at really needs a new logo. I messed around and came up with this. Any thoughts?

I like it, I wonder about the colors (boxes). Do these colors have importance, or just because they go together. IF the latter, then, maybe different colors that are not "trendy".

Nice contemporary look. The flow lines takes my eye to the right off the loop of the "d" and away from the graphic. Did you experiment with the placement of the logo so the eye is drawn to the graphic rather than away from it. Which item is most important to you - the church name or the recognizable logo? If a person saw the logo without the name of the church would they say, "Oh, that's the new Christian church." What about lowering the logo (or raising the name) so the upward sweep of the arm of the cross points directly at the name rather than above it? Logos are funny things at times. None of this is to say I don't like it. It's just thinking stuff! Best wishes on the new start.

Wow..that's really great Grizz. I like the look of that. What I don't care for is the "of" part. I can't seem to offer any suggestions though, other than just delete it and see how it looks. I can't even explain why I don't care for it. Could be because it is small and lost in the center, the o looking odd so small beside the f with that font or something. Or I could just be completely wrong or too nit picky about something I know nothing about. Right or wrong..it certainly has class.

I like it, especially the cross. You might consider having only three boxes in the background to symbolize the Holy Trinity. Just a thought...

I really like it! The only thing that throws me just a bit is the text size. Maybe increase the "Christian Church" a hair, and decrease the town name a hair. I could just be being nit-picky too. All in all I like it alot!

Thanks everyone, good questions for me to ponder and think over. I appreciate it. The four squares are there to represent a disciplship program. They will represent: Know, Grow, Show and Go. I'm hoping for a media presentation that will expand each square to full screen giving greater detail of the topic.

We use Connect, Grow, Serve, Share as our discipleship process. Go get um Grizz.

I definitely like the overall look.

Being a theology nut, I would personally rather see the cross a bit more bold--- the colors in the background seem to mute out the black/white cross. If possible, a medium-dark brown (ie, like old rugged wood) might look appropriate.

Would also really make the brush strokes on the cross more obvious.
