Since I couldn't drive for two months and my husband doesn't drive any more, I didn't go car shopping until the Dr cleared me to drive again. I loved my Nissan Rogue, so that is what I bought to replace it with. 2023 white Rogue. (I think it is smarter than I am...the user's manual is an inch thick! It does everything but cook and wash dishes, and I think they are working on that. ) I always buy a year old car....let someone else pay the depreciation. And the last two cars I bought Hertz rental returns because I know they are serviced regularly and kept in top shape. I really like it, but can't believe all the new features in the last seven years. I finally figured out what the "stop and go" feature on the dash was....it turns off the engine when you stop for more than about five seconds and calculates how many miles worth of gasoline you save by doing so....I've saved 128 miles worth of gas so far. The side rear view mirror lights up yellow if there is a car driving in your blind spot. I'm working my way through the manual. So far I love it!

I know exactly what you mean. We just got a VW back in Dec. I've only had analog vehicles up until the VW, still trying to figure things out. Love the bum warmers, individual a/c and sunroof. Ours has that start/stop, I turn it off in town mostly. We took it out of town and got 41mph. We love it.

My new RAM P/U has that start/stop feature. I turn it off in the city because the A/C doesnt cool when the engine stops at a light or something like that. Ironically, in the city is where you get the most benefit. Go figure.
When it's 90+º you need the A/C.

Bought a Silverado last summer. The engine also shuts off at lights but if the car needs heat or A/C it turns itself back on. If you want it on just ease of the brake peddle a hint, not enough to move, and the engine starts again. I never turn it off.

Still to many electronics though. A couple weeks ago I gassed up at Costco and it wouldn't move. Electric parking brake wouldn't release. Had to get towed to the dealership. Warranty covered a new right parking brake actuator and the tow. I'm used to people in the gas line giving me the evil eye when pulling out some Jerry cans to fill but block the pump for a couple hours and the evil eye is a warm embrace in comparison.

Congrats on the new car.
We have a 2003 Isuzu Axiom and 2004 Isuzu Rodeo. Paid for since 2006 or so and still going.
Our daughter has a loaded 2021 Subaru and it has too much tech for me.
