No, not a new born... We have four children now!

Today our new puppy came home! This is a rescued dog that came up from North Carolina. She is young, just a year old and very very good! She (Brianna, by the way) met with all four kiddos and had no problems. Seems pretty good off the leash, but did run to the neighbors house when thier dog was out, but did not cause problems.

We even took her for a ride in the Jeep to the Tractor Supply Store to pick up some new dog items. She really came out like a star here and behaved like a little lady. We are hopefull that there are no bad habits that will rear thier head. She did get a bit over excited when we ate dinner and were putting food on plates, so that needs some work.

Brianna is a German Shepard with some mix, I am sure. For just a year old, she seems small to me, but really looks all shepard.

Congrats to you on the rescue pooch. They always seem to form a special bond, as though they can sense that you saved their bacon... Best of luck with her!

Way to go, Lee!!

My all time favorite pet is a cat I "rescued" outside of a Mexican restaurant. She follows me like a dog, sits on a stool to watch me cook, and sleeps at my feet in the winter. Matter of fact, all four of our cats have different rescue stories.

Congrats on the save Lee!

My wife keeps on looking at Staffordshire Terriers on Petfinder.com.

I'm thinking we're going to have another pup to deal with after our vacation....

Beautiful addition Lee. There's nothing like a rescue dog. All of mine have been rescues from an individual or from the pound. Last one was "rescued" from a gentleman getting rid of all of his dogs because he had cancer and new the end was coming. We got Buck when he was under a year and he was with us until last year, when he was 17.

Thanks guys! (and ladies) ;)

Bree is a keeper for sure, seems to be adjusting very well too. I look at a rescue dog as one that has seen the "inside" and knows what its like. That dog is thinking "Oh please keep me... I will do ANYTHING, just don't make me go back! Meanwhile, the "store bought" dog sits there thinking to itself "You owe me, I demand to be spoiled! No fix me dinner!"

Ok, I know that takes a little "doggy thought" liberty, but all the rescued dogs I have ever had always seem to be a bit special compared to a spoiled expensive dog. :D
