Network Outage This Morning

Here's the scoop on the long site outage this morning:

At approximately 04:58 AM Eastern Time (GMT -04:00) this morning we started to receive notification from our external monitoring stations regarding service interruptions on many of our services. Upon investigation, these service interruptions were caused by a global issues on our core network switching. We restored service at around 09:02 AM Eastern Time (GMT -04:00), resulting in a 244 minutes of unplanned outage. You receive this notification because you were affected by this service interruption.

In order to make our network more resilient, we will be upgrading and/or replacing our core network switch within the next 30 days.

So, that's what happened. I'm not usually on in the morning, so I didn't know if it was a regularly scheduled maintenance reason why I couldn't log on.

...and on the day we drove 1.5 hours to a jobsite and I was not driving...boring ride.
Glad it wasn't something more serious...although what you told us sounds serious..."core" anything sounds serious especially with global switching,or the lack there of. :biggrin::biggrin:Thanks Jeff.
