Need a mechanic in Mechanicsburg, PA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello

My son now lives in Mechanicsburg, PA. He has a 2003 Nissan P/U. Lots of miles and wants to have a new timing belt/chain installed. I suggested he go to a "good" independent shop instead of going to the dealership which has been really expensive in the past.

Well, he said thats a great idea Dad, how do I find one?

I told him I would post here among the most resourceful & frugal of people, woodworkers . . .

Any suggestions appreciated . . .

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Go to http://www.cartalk.com
click on "Actual car info"
then click on "Owning"
and finally click on "mechanic files" and search the database for a recommended mechanic in the area.
Do you listen to Car Talk on NPR? ...great program
Do a good turn daily!

Steven; If it isn't too far to drive Check out Wadlingers Garage In Hummelstown. Jeff does good work. Call first, he prefers to work on USA cars....

Not that hard of a job. Get a Haynes Manual and do it your self. It can be done in less than a day with a basic set of metric sockets and wrenches. Feels great to say I did it and saves money to.
