Hi all,

I need some suggestions where I can find dip nib ferrules in something other that stainless steel.

I have a potential to make several dip pens for a customer but he doesn't like the look of the steel.

Anyone know of a supplier with something different than the standard steel ferrule?

Nancy, are you talking about this piece? If so, then I've only ever seen them in steel. From Golden Nib or Lou's site. I'm not sure if they are stainless though as they are easily picked up by a magnet.
Perhaps you could recess it a little deeper into the handle so that the visible ring is less noticable? But if you do find some, please let me know too:biggrin:

Get them gold, silver, or whatever plated. Shouldn't be too much for a batch. If you did some in bulk, I'm sure you could recover your costs selling a few here. They should be pretty easy to plate in a tumble type plating bath. Ask your local jewelry store as a start or search for plating firms.

Nancy, the photo Skiprat showed is the only way they come.

If you spray paint them or have them plated as BRobins said, I'm not sure they will be as adaptable for nibs because of the added layer of coating...

Try painting the steel edge to offset the steel color. Or give me a little time and I'll see if I can come up with something for you.
