last week I posted a small gloat about getting this wood:

Today I cut that small piece off the first block and when I cut it open this is what it looks like:

Now here's my problem, my band saw is only a 9" Delta and the way it acted when I was cutting that small section I don't think it would last for cutting up all three chunks. So my question is, is there any other way of milling it to size? Also I know that you want to seal the ends after you cut it, but what side is the end of a burl?

I am not opposed to sharing the wealth if there is someone that lives close enough and wants to mill it for me.

Great find/score!

I am sure someone close will take you on your offer.

BTW, I normally seal all sides after milling burls w/ anchorseal. If it is a plain/straight wood, I only seal the ends.

Dale, I would offer my big Walker Turner which would not even flinch at that stuff, but it's a bit of a drive to Connecticut! Do you have a table saw? You can make a jig to hold the burl.

Yeah, it is a bit far. I do have a table saw, but the last time I tried cutting green wood on it the blade came loose.[:0]
