I have a delta 46-700 about 30 years old and only used for one project. My son finally returned it last month. Two problems that need help>

the knob that adjusts variable speed is non functional. The screw w spring that holds the locking lever in place was bent. I removed it but the handle will not advance to a speed above 500rpm. I hestiate to force it and probably will have to disassemble to determine why it will not advance to higher rpm....perhaps more than screw was bent. Suggestions appreciated.

The handwheel on tailstock is busted and needs to be replaced. I looked online and apparently no longer available. The delta replacement lathe 46-715 looks identical.............is it likely that handwheels are the same

thanks in advance

If were you would call "replacement parts, toll free number 866-502-6383 and ask whether item 121 will fit your lathe.

Might have better luck with places like MSC.

Good luck trying to fix that reeves drive!

I took mind to a machine welding shop in town, took off reeves drive pulley wheels, put the motor pulley on the spindle, bought another pulley for the motor, swivel motor bracket (made at shop) bolted to bed allow me to move belt over pulleys changing speeds. Threw away plastic housing.
