Anyone have any suggestions on a new edger for under 200 bucks? Also a trimmer with the edger attachment would be even better. Gas powered prefered. The one thing I hate most in this world is yard work...YUCK. Wish I could just concrete it all and paint it green.

I also hate yard work.

My wife actually does our edging. While we have a gas single purpose edger, she most often uses our Weedeater trimmer which has a button that causes the head to swivel so it can be used as an edger. I did a search online and I think that it might be model TE475.

EDGING!!!! Arghhhhhh!!! Edging is a hot button in my house. I've been through them all ... from electric edgers to gas powered to shovels. My two weapons of choice ..... using the edger on a Mantis tiller ..... and holding that string trimmer on its side and kicking up a cloud of dirt.

I use an electric to edge about 200' every week. Driveway, sidewalk and curb. It's called Black and Decker Hedgehog. I figured with price of gas, I'd worry with the cord for the ease of "pull the trigger and it runs". First one worked most of a summer and died. Took it to repair shop and asked how long it would take to repair. Answer was "10 seconds". Handed me a new one still in the box. Been chomping away for 2 years for $69.95. Neighbor used one that was on a trimmer. His broke and he borrowed mine. Bought one just like it the next day. The problem with the interchangeable heads on the trimmers is the shaft that makes the interchangeable. It's just not sturdy enough for edging IMHO. Neighbor's just twisted in half after 6 months.

That's why I moved to the country.... no edging.

now mowing the BIG hill behind the house is another story.

Well, thanks for the suggestions everyone. I went ahead a bought a black and decker edge hog. Decided it was cheap enough that if it didn't work for crud I could take it back and get a gas one. I will have to say I was rather happy with how it turned out. I haven't edged other than with the weedeater in 3 years and it just sliced right on through and kept going.
